Document the source of funds
Identify the underlying transaction or asset and retain supporting records. The bank may require evidence of source, ownership and tax treatment. Do not send complete bank or identity records through a public enquiry form.
Bring your advisers into the conversation
Ask your bank for its current checklist and have an independent qualified tax adviser review reporting and certification requirements. Rules depend on residency, account type, the source of funds and current regulation.
Leave room for review
Institutional checks can create follow-up questions. Track submissions and outstanding requirements, and do not rely on a guaranteed transfer date or eligibility promise. Confirm limits and approvals directly with your bank.
